Last week saw people come to play Gamecube Naruto, Wii Fit Plus, Street Fighter IV and Rock Band 2. What do you want to play this week?

Also, to get conversation going, what do you love and hate about EVAC in it's current format?

I have no strong opinions on the status of the club in the current form.

As for games, I can't really think of anything except to suggest that we give RB a rest for a while. I'm totally burnt out on it. And without DLC it does get a bit tiring playing the same dozen songs (almost) every week.

Surely we can borrow a US copy of RB1 and at least transfer the songs over to the club PS3 to give us some more variety (doesn't it only cost US$5?). I don't know if it should be gone entirely but it doesn't always need projector status either. But if it's going to be on the club PS3 then we should also consider getting some form of DLC for it. Either by discussion or by setting up a poll for what songs we should get etc...

EDIT: And Queen DLC is coming out at the end of the week!!!! It's only missing Bohemian Rhapsody but would still be awesome none the less.

I believe Simon is bringing in his shiny new PS3 with 500+ songs this coming EVAC. I would appreciate a break from Rock Band in the near future regardless of massive DLC, but moving away from the same old songs will certainly extend its life for me.

I guess having Simon's machine solves all the problems then. Loads of DLC (constantly being updated, I assume). Only having the machine and instruments when Simon decides to come means that it won't be there all the time. That'll reduce burnout. Frees up the club ps3 for other games.

It wasn't getting too much attention last week, but that's because RB2's default setlist is about as good as Guitar Hero WT's. Maybe this week with more songs will gather more attention, but I'd like to see more rotation on the projector as the last few weeks have been good. Amirite?

I am against projector rotation. Too much faffing about. Just pick one game to have on the projector for that week. Put a vote up in these threads for what game it is if you like. Whatever game was on the projector the previous week cannot be voted in for the current week. And maybe new release games for that week get priority of projection.

No, no. I mean weekly game rotation. Rock Band one week, Naruto the next, Fighters the week after that. So, exactly what you're suggesting.

I've checked with Butters and am confirming that he'll be bringing FIFA 10 this week.

Yeah I will have loads of the songs, with new DLC presumably.

I'm sorry, but Article 1207, Paragraph 6 clearly states that "The only song you're allowed to play is 'Foreigner - Feels Like The First Time' ad infinitum"

I could probably play that same Modest Mouse song over and over.

I am giving you a citation for improper use of the word "prequel". A prequel is something that comes after the original but describes events that happened before it. If anything, you could describe it as a precursor, but that is a bit of a stretch.

Here endeth the sermon.

Hmmm.. I always assumed that a prequel was something that was crap but only gets a look in because there was something related that generated interest.

Rob's working for the next few weeks. I won't be bringing a PS3 myself, I'm bringing a PS2 for older SF games.

I'd kinda like to see Naruto get a run on the projector soon.

Do it tonight, I'll make sure it gets set up if it's there.
Also, I'll bring SF4, just incase no one brings a PS3 and the club one isnt in use.

I think he means the Rock Band guitars in general. Some people prefer the Guitar Hero ones due to more defined buttons and the clickity clickity.

Oh, that. I prefer the Stratocaster, the buttons feel nicer, the neck of the guitar is the right thickness and there's no annoying clicking strum. But yeah, personal preference.

I loathe the buttons on the strats, but the newer Rock Band models - mostly the Rock Band 2 guitar but also the Beatles controllers - have done a good job of tightening the strum bar and making it vaguely possible to double strum.

Yeah Browny, if you haven't given the latest non-wii Rock band guitar a go yet, don't write them off completely, the RB2 and beatles ones are fantastic.
