Last week saw the first set of ranbats (ranked battles) for Street Fighter IV, along with Naruto EX 3 on the Projector. Other games in play were: Street Fighter 4 single player (unlocking characters for club PS3) and Street Fighter Alpha 3. Come to think of it, there wasn't anything that wasn't a fighter. Maybe we can fix that this week!

This week there will be a distinct lack of aged club stalwarts in the room, as we will be in Melbourne for diverse reasons. Feel free to not wear deodorant.

That means people can enjoy playing whatever they want without people raging and giving cock-eyed glances. :3

No decent Rock Band, as both my kits will be across the border.

So you'll have to use Barron's broken copy.

hah

hah

hhaaaaah

or just wait until the week after when I'll be back with over 600 songs.

The only thing broken about Barron's copy is the USB hub.

Hopefully this week will be better than the last, as far as I'm concerned last week was just EVAC fight club night, you were stuffed for choice if you didn't want to play a fighter...

Yeah, I know we can only play what others bring but there's more to life than SFIV people!

Two of the TVs weren't being used. I'm sure if other stuff was set up, people would play it.

are there any decent multiplayer fps' on the Wii yet? I really think the wiimote is an excellent device for console fps' and would likely be a great addition to the EVAC lineup.

The Conduit tried to be a good FPS, but it's glitchy and overall pretty shit.

Missed opportunities define this entire generation of consoles, imo.

There must be something, unless the wii is too family-friendly to have shooters...

One of the Call of Duties is meant to be alright. And The Conduit isn't terribad, but it was hyped up the wazoo (especially by IGN) and ended up being very average - albeit with excellent controls.

Maybe if we can find a cheap copy somewhere it might be worth trying for the multiplayer?

Metroid Prime 3 is fuckawesome of course, but doesn't have multiplayer. I was really hoping metroid Prime trilogy would flesh out the Metroid Prime 2 multiplayer mode with more levels, but instead it's just the same with the better controls.

So yeah, wii could have a fantastic multiplayer FPS, but no-one seems to get it right.

And before someone says "PS3 will get it right with the PS3 wand thing!", I say: BULLSHIT. The wand itself has no dpad or analogue stick, and they haven't got a nunchuck for movement, they instead expect you to hold a dualshock with your free hand for the movement and button controls.

Which will be shit.

Yeah, a little research and it looks like the only options worth looking at are COD4 and The Conduit. Oh, and Quantum of Solace, but I think we can ignore that...

You mean Perfect Dark, right?

If we can get functioning 64 controllers together, I can bring in my 64 and Dark. If I'm present - I've got two assignments due on Friday.

That you would even attempt to compare the glory of Goldeneye to the pathetic trashpile that was Perfect Dark is an embarrassment to your whole family.

You could play multiplayer AS julian, dude. GOTC (Game Of The Century).

The single player was pretty crap though, but it did pick up once the alien plot kicked in!

edit: Holy crap, The Conduit features Kevin Sorbo as a voice actor! Forget everything I said, it's clearly an amazing game!

There should be more interest for SF3 than SFA3. Just give a heads up and people are bound to come to play.

I say we just change the name to the SFIV fight club and save all that crazy confusion.

"Hey Troy's totally not here this week, let's use this as an option to officially start rankings"

I know that was totally said last week, i was speaking to my paranoid self and he totally confirmed it.

Doesn't need to be complete fighting games every week but if the SFIV folks wanna come along to to chill and hadouken some face off I don't really think that's an issue considering the SFIV crowd provides their stuff every week.

I have NGNT 3 & 4 as well as the bleach GC one if you guys wanna have a play with any of those i'll totally bring them.

why doesn't someone bring in some Mario Kart(64,wii... doesn't really matter) or some sweet ass chu chu rocket on DC.

I'm sure i'll find the time to wander over and have a few rounds with those games if they appear.

Congratulations on being the catalyst that began our rankings!

I don't know if I'm coming or not, but if I am I'd be up for some Tekken 5.
Unless you're bringing your SNES, Xandox. In that case you know what's going to go down.

Well that definitely sounded like a challenge to me bro. You're on.

I'll bring both the SNES and NES to retro the place up (you know what to bring Tom...) and I'll premier the first of my 8-bit chip-tunes... and one of them is KEYBOARD CAT!

It'd be fine for the club PS3 to get used for some SF action - plus it's probably about time the projector got some hadokens on it, too...
