Post EVAC 12/02/10: NOT Sardines
This week we'll be in the WP Rogers room. That's on the same floor and side of the building as the Harry Medlin rooms, just at the end of the corridor. It is smaller than our usual venues.

4-8, though with our current track record I'm guessing actual activities will start closer to 4:30.

[UPDATE] We're in the Union Cinema. Sorry for the mix-up, guys. Union Cinema is on the fifth floor of the Union House building, near the gym.

Present will be:
Club Wii - probably for Weeaboo fightan
Club PS3 - probably for SFIV Education (if we can find a copy of the game, does the club own one/can we borrow Jubei's?)
Playman's PS3 - for more serious SFIV action.

+ Other consoles if we're lucky.

Oh sweet, Evac is back! I had no idea. Delightful. 8-)

This weekend I aquired Pop'n Music on the PS2; a delightful little musical number from Konami that starts out all cute and lovely and fuzzy-wuzzy and then it RAPES YOUR FACE OFF. Would anyone be interested in an appearance in the coming weeks?

Back on topic, I'd say I'm about 50/50 to turn up this week. I'm broke-ass-broke but I'm so desperate for some human interaction that isn't the same five people that I might just have to spot myself the fuel and snacks money to get down this week.

There's interest, we've actually been umming and ahhing about getting popnmusic for about the last 2 years, but it always dies off due to people being too lazy to make the controller.

UPDATE
I can't read booking sheets. We're in Union Cinema this week, which hopefully will make getting started faster because we left a couple of TVs there last week.

I have an official Konami "Minicon"...which is exactly what you think it is. A mini controller. It's a significantly reduced version of the arcade-size models and is actually quite handy/portable/easier for noobs. The size however becomes a problem for those who have played a lot on full-size cabinets or controllers. I've gone back to being ultranoob at Pop'n because of it, but it's still heaps of fun! The game itself is so insane in every possible way that it's a good time guaranteed.

I'm considering buying a used DJ Dao Pop'n ASC at the moment. Although Daos aren't official, is probably the worlds' best and most accurate arcade recreation controller. (My mate had one for Beatmania IIDX and the thing was a piece of art! Daos use the same internal parts and pieces as the real Konami-built cabinets so this was definitely the closest we ever got to having a IIDX cab in Adelaide!!) I should get some cheap-o Guitar Freaks/Drummania stuff too. The granddaddies of the ever-expanding Plastic Musical Instrument genre are too hilarious to miss.

Anyway yeah...it's now Saturday so NOT sardines is over. Maybe next week I'll hoof it into town with the Minicon. (I'm also gonna need a jps2 or a modified ps2. Does the club have one or should I bring my own?)

You don't say!
