SSF4 AVCon Tournies!

Less than a month to go till AVCon! Who's pumped about the SSF4 tourney this year? I reckon we've all gotten a hell of a lot better than we were at AVCon09..

I heard a while back from Troy that we were going to be doing a 3v3 tourney, although I recently heard that it's not going ahead anymore? Any idea why not, cos it would've been awesome. I was actually looking forward to that a lot more than the 1v1 tourney..

A number of reasons, really. Mostly due to the majority of interstate candidates having other national and international fighting events on and leaving us with a minimal number of entrants.

Ah ok, so we were banking on a majority of the participants being interstate players? Can't we just do a sign up event like the 1v1 would be?

Well, it was going to be a invitational teams exhibition tournament, with EVAC having a team that would have been discussed before the con. What this means is that not everyone could have entered to begin with and the way we scheduled the tournaments, it didn't leave us with enough time to have it as a standard tournament. It would have been all on stage, so there's really no floor time for another tournament, unfortunatly.

Now, this sucks and all, but we will be having the tournament area with PS3s set up for SSFIV team play on the saturday games night. We're currently gauging whether it would be prudent to do a casual teams thing during this time.

well.. i did give Daigo the idea of the invitation tournament..
i might just hold a Pete's garden teams thing for that sat nite..

so i will make up some teams based on my own impressions.. which i learned off Mitch and naruto...
put some teams together...
and see how u go..
then i might allow for 2 or 3 teams to be made up with random pple on the day..

For anyone interested, I've uploaded a few videos from the top 8. Unfortunately my battery ran out half way through so I didn't get the epic grand finals and a few before it too. I think Playmon will be uploading those later.
